A Message from President Denise M. Trauth
Friday, January 14, 2022
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
On Tuesday, the spring semester begins with two weeks of temporary online/remote courses for our university. We made that decision for two reasons: to limit the disruption caused by the latest COVID-19 surge and to protect the safety and health of our Texas State University community. Thank you for the flexibility you have shown as we take this precaution.
I want to assure you that Texas State is returning to in-person instruction on January 31, 2022.
We are returning to face-to-face instruction and experiences for a very important reason -- the good of our students. While our students learn in a variety of delivery modalities including face-to-face, online, and hybrid instruction, we know many of our students positively benefit from engagement in face-to-face learning and activities.
As we have managed university operations over the last two years during COVID-19, our focus has been to safely preserve this personal engagement, attention, and instruction our students have come to expect and cherish from our faculty and our staff. That has not changed.
While this is not the start of the semester we envisioned, our university community has much to look forward to this spring -- from in-person gatherings and events to athletic competitions and commencement. Let’s continue to work together to keep our university safe, healthy, engaged, and thriving. I look forward to seeing you on our campuses soon.
Sincerely,
Denise M. Trauth
President
