Bobcat CARES Emergency Grant Application Period – Spring 2022
Thursday, January 13, 2022
Dear Students,
I am pleased to announce that additional federally funded emergency grants are available to students this spring to help ease the financial strain caused by the pandemic. Texas State will distribute over $6.5 million in emergency assistance for the spring 2022 semester through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. Applications will be open online from January 18-February 1, 2022.
Enrolled full- and part-time students are eligible to receive funds to offset expenses related to any component of the cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, housing, food, books, supplies, and travel expenses to and from Texas State campuses. The funds can also be used to cover emergency costs due to the coronavirus, including healthcare, mental healthcare, and childcare. Awards will be prioritized for those who have not yet previously received a Bobcat Cares emergency grant, and based on applicants’ financial need. Learn more about the emergency grants, eligibility requirements, and how to apply on the Bobcat Cares webpage.
We have already awarded more than $73 million in emergency grants to students through Bobcat Cares. I’m grateful that we’re able to provide more of these emergency grants to our students this spring. Student success is our top priority, and I know that every bit of financial support we provide our Bobcats makes a difference.
Sincerely,
Denise M. Trauth
President
