Asian Professional Association

An employee and business resource group with a mission to elevate Asian faculty and staff in the campus community and amplify our voices and experiences while partnering with university leaders and organizations to create space for advancing and connecting people

Purpose

1. Unite and improve the visibility of Asian faculty and staff who identify as South Asian, Southeast Asian, East Asian, Pacific Islander, and all others that identify or who are interested in standing with the Asian community.
2. Provide a collective voice for faculty and staff with a common interest.
3. Support professional advocacy, create an internal professional network and promote inclusion.
4. Seek to improve the university’s recruitment, retention, progression, and advancement of those served by the network.
5. Broaden inclusion through cultural awareness and support of Asian student organizations and members of the campus community.

Asian Pacific Islander Desi/American (APID/A) Student Orgs at Texas State

APID/A encompasses people from all of the Asian continent, India, and the Pacific islands of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.
