Message from President Damphousse

Dear Texas State Community,

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce the 2025–2035 Texas State University Master Plan—a visionary roadmap for the future of our beloved university. This plan represents the culmination of a truly collaborative effort, shaped by the insights and aspirations of those who know and cherish TXST. Faculty and staff members, students, alumni, stakeholders, and community partners have all contributed their voices, ensuring that this plan reflects the shared dreams of our Bobcat family.

At its core, the Campus Plan embraces the natural beauty that makes our campuses in San Marcos and Round Rock so special. From the iconic hills and sweeping vistas to the flowing San Marcos River, our unique environment has always been a cornerstone of the TXST experience. In honor of this heritage, the plan prioritizes enhancing green spaces to foster gathering, connection, and reflection. These spaces will serve as places for inspiration and collaboration—reinforcing our connection to the natural world and to one another.

Accessibility is also central to our vision. As our university continues to grow and thrive, we are committed to creating a campus that is welcoming and easy to navigate for all. This means investing in infrastructure and design that ensure everyone can experience the full richness of our university environment.

The TXST Campus Plan is built around three key strategic elements: our Hopes & Aspirations High vision for TXST’s future, the 2023–2029 University Plan, and ongoing collaborations within our institution and with regional partners. Together, these elements chart a path forward that aligns with our mission, values, and goals while addressing the evolving needs of our university community.

Guided by this plan, we aim to create campuses that not only support today’s Bobcats but also lay a strong foundation for future generations. Whether through bold new initiatives or thoughtful preservation of our heritage, this plan ensures that TXST remains a place of innovation, discovery, and belonging. I know you will share my excitement for this plan and what it means for the future of our university.
